It's hard to complain about the media trapping you in an enduring soap opera when you're writing new scripts for it and taping new episodes, but that's exactly what the Chicks have done. "Shut Up & Sing" documents them doing it, and the band members' personalities are engaging enough that it's possible to watch the movie and think, "What poor women," for a while and then later be struck by the inanity of so many of the circumstances depicted.As Cooper notes, the Dixie Chicks have sold 1.5 million albums this year, so Maines & Co. seem to subscribe to the old PR saw, "I don't care what you say about me, just make sure you spell my name right."

The Dixie Chicks, Micheal Moore and all those that opposed the Iraqi invasion were vindicated. So were the Generals like Shinseki that Bush fired because they didn't agree with his half-assed plan. As William Buckley put it, "It didn't work".

Sorry, but nothing Michael Moore alleged is legit and the Dixie Chicks got into trouble for saying they were ashamed that they were from the same state as the President.
And has Shinseki said that it was wrong to invade Iraq? But that doesn't matter does it? I forgot, the current angle of attack is that Bush is incompetent, not that he lied . . . you guys make it hard to keep up!!
To say that "nothing Michael Moore alleged is legit" is classic response, indicative of the same kool-aide drinkers who have hired firms like the Lincoln Group to produce "good news" from Iraq at the cost of millions to taxpayers. One of the most respected journalists in American history put it correctly, you are in 'A STATE OF DENIAL.' Give it up.

Sorry if I don't much trust your view on what is or is not a "good idea" in waging the war (v. the law enforcement exercise) on terror. And I find it ironic that you would pitch the Bill Clinton template (ignore the problem, hope it goes away and get re-elected) as acceptable. Killing ruthless enemies of America in the Middle East rather than Middle Tennessee sounds like a sound strategery to me.
