Name dropping is bad form, Mr. Ex Vice President

Ex vice-president, Algore, is dropping names in the NY Times. He claims that--as V.P., he received comedy pointers from Johnny Carson. I think it is interesting though (and the reason it qualifies as "name dropping"), because who is going to not accept a call from the Vice President (Gore said he would call Carson).

I also think it is funny that Algore feels he needs to inform the interviewer (and, thus, the audience/readers) that "the shtick about me was that I was stiff" . . . we know that; thanks; and we're not so sure it was merely a shtick.
