How much do we need to know?

I was just reading an article about the fourth missing Navy SEAL's body being found. The U.S. military has said he was found in the general area where the other two men were killed in combat and that he had not been disfigured in any way--contrary to what a Jihadiot spokesman had recently claimed ("we beheaded him"). I'm saddened to hear that he was killed but glad to know that he was not tortured/held/disfigured. But it made me start thinking: what if the military was only saying that to goad or aggravate the Jihadiots? would that be wrong? how much do we (citizens) need to know? You know it would tick off those Jihadiots not to get credit for one of their beheading shows . . . .
