Can y'all not endorse Corker?
News today that the American Atheists are refusing to endorse Ford, Jr. to replace Frist. Though this will potentially boost Ford, Jr.'s candidacy, it also has the feel of a man bites dog story because it highlights the fact that the Democrat Party--Ford, Jr.'s party, is the Atheists' party of choice.

Of course we are, as we are of every other non-Christian religion (Mormons being the exception, unless you consider them Christians), because our Party supports the rights of others not to have one religious view shoved down their throat by the Government.
Sean, although I'm glad to see you acknowledge that Atheism is more-or-less a religion, I'd say that your assertion is simplistic. In fact, not even a majority (much less all) of Americans who are "Christian" are Republican. Rather, it's generally related to the relativism/absolutism split (or, for some religious people, the enemy-of-my-enemy split).
Of course Atheism is a religion...it's a belief based on something you can never know, essentially that "there is no God". The only non-religion is agnosticism because it recognizes that you can never truly "know" whether or not there is a God, and what that God wants you to do.
As for relativism vs absolutism...there are many Democrats who have absolute beliefs on what is or isn't morally right. However, they [with the exception of Ford and some other Conservative Democrats] don't believe the Federal Government should be forcing their beliefs on other people.
Definitely there are Democrats who hold absolute beliefs, they just don't typically acknowledge that others have the same right. But I've noticed that you tend to think that the only "beliefs" impacting law are so-called socially conservative beliefs. You and other Liberals have no problem with imposing your values/beliefs/morals through coercion: e.g., charity (economic redistribution), kindness ("hate" speech laws), etc. Can you tell me one of my religious views that I'm trying to impose on people through gov't?
Oh, and don't be concerned about supporting Ford, Jr.; he's just doing what he's gotta do to get elected in a Red State . . . he doesn't believe this stuff.
