Poor, poor Rangel the victim . . .

As CNN reports, House panel finds Rangel guilty of ethics violations:
Washington (CNN) -- A House ethics subcommittee found longtime Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel guilty Tuesday on multiple violations of House rules.

On Monday, Rangel, D-New York, walked out of the House ethics subcommittee trial, complaining he has not had sufficient time to hire a new legal team to respond to ethics allegations.

He has had an attorney for many months--the majority of the time he has been facing these allegations. He has known since September that he needed to replace his attorney. He has loads of personal and political resources to pay for an attorney. He has been found in violation without putting up a defense. He is playing us all like a fiddle.

Dems' 2010 silver lining?

Much of what William Saletan writes in this Slate article may be true, because of the crass reality of modern politics, and how difficult it is to repeal an "entitlement." But I think Saletan may be mistakenly ignoring the less-than-superficial historic-ness of this election.

We'll soon see how much the new GOP majority reverts to form . . .

Robert Gibbs threatened to pull the One from bi-lateral talks in India. Thereby demonstrating his commitment to his buddies in the media, if not his commitment to diplomacy. RG you're so tough!!
