America and the World Cup

Great NYTimes feature (here) on how the USA is--perhaps, affecting the sport of soccer.

Reading this article reminded me of the observation (perception?) during extended periods I have spent in other, non-European, parts of the world that "quit" is particulary lacking in quintessential American culture.
